What is Health Coaching?

Health Coaching is:

  • The process of helping people grow, thrive and improve their well-being by making sustainable changes in their mindset and lifestyle behaviors

  • A very client-centered process — the client determines his or her own path and goals

  • The coach provides the support and holds the client accountable

  • Focusing on the “here and now” and helping you move forward, rather than looking back

  • Helping you unlock your potential to make lasting changes

  • Note: Health coaches are not medical practitioners, so we don’t prescribe treatments to clients

The Health Coach’s role

  • Partner with you as you work to enhance your well-being in a way that is aligned with your values

  • Help you discover your character strengths that you can call on to make sustainable changes in your life

  • Guide you as you set SMART goals

  • Believe in your capacity for change

  • Hold you accountable

  • Celebrate your wins with you

  • Believe that you are the expert on your own life

  • Encourage you to listen to your body, mind and spirit

In a coaching relationship: The client “does the work” and the coach is the “guide on the side”

I work with people who:

  • Want to improve their cognition

  • Want to improve overall health to have a stronger immune system

  • Want to feel more energetic / less fatigued

  • Want to get in better shape

  • Want to better manage the stress in their life

  • Just know that they are not feeling as well as they could be
